Kako stoje stvari, ovogodišnje izdanje palićkog filmskog festivala biće najambicioznije, i sledstveno tome, najuspelije. Narečena pretpostavka zasnovana je, među ostalim, na činjenici da je pitanje finansiranja napokon rešeno, kao i na brižljivo balansiranim programskim sadržajima, koji će publici ponuditi preko šezdeset naslova. Glavni, program, tako, donosi sve sâme recentne evropske favorite, a program Paralele i sudari nadgrađuju svoj lanjski, veoma uspeli skor. I pobočne programske celine doimaju se isprofilisano, a očekivanja su posebno vezana za selekciju Mladi autori Evrope, program koji se prošle godine dojmio posve osvežavajućim.
Valja podsetiti da je Festival prvi put održan godine 1993. i da se, u međuvremenu, razvio u respektabilno sineastičko događanje, koje je, postepeno jačajući svoj rejting, uspelo da se od filmske smotre razvije u sasvim pristojan (u ovoj zemlji, uz Fest, vodeći) festival, zaokruživši, svojim desetim izdanjem, programsku koncepciju usmerenu ka evropskom i regionalnom filmu, što korespondira sa učlanjenjem u Evropsku asocijaciju filmskih festivala, a to je činjenica koja, bez sumnje, prija. Ali itekako obavezuje.
Od ove godine, zvanični naziv palićkih sineastičkih događanja glasi Festival evropskog filma, čime je i formalno overena njegova programska, strukturalna i geografska oznaka.
Osim toga, Festival će biti promovisan i u Segedinu (obližnji grad u Evropskoj uniji), programima Mladi autori Evrope i Novi srpski film, što bi trebalo da testira ideju o organizovanju zajedničkog srpskocrnogorsko-mađarskog festivala (2006. godine), koji bi, u tom slučaju, i doslovno postao evropski.
Palićki filmski festival, za vreme svoje istorije, ustanovio je prepoznatljivo ime na regionalnoj kinematografskoj mapi, a sve više predstavlja i evropsku referencu.
No, ono što je, makar neformalno, dragocena tekovina palićkog filmske manifestacije jeste ležerna atmosfera, pitomina, i, nadasve, nepatvorena pozitivna energija koja biva svuda gde se festival odvija.
Dvanaesti međunarodni filmski festival biće otvoren danas, 17. jula. Posle ceremonije otvaranja (21.00) na Letnjoj pozornici, uslediće film Unutrašnje more urađen u špansko-francusko-italijanskog koprodukciji (van konkurencije, 21.45), a kasnije ćemo pogledati grčki film Isporuka (23.30).
Festival će otvoriti Mikloš Jančo, slavni mađarski reditelj.

It seems that this year’s Palic Film Festival is going to be the most ambitious, and accordingly, the most successful one. The aforesaid assumption is based, among other things, on the fact that the funding problem has finally been solved, as well as on the carefully balanced programmes which will offer over sixty titles to the audience. The Official Selection programme brings the most recent European favourites, whereas the programme Parallels and Encounters builds up its last year’s very successful score. Supporting programmes also make an impression of well established units, and expectations are particularly great about the programme Young European Authors, which was a very refreshing experience last year.
We should remember that the Festival was organized for the first time in 1993, and meanwhile it has developed into a respectable film event. Gradually strengthening its rating, it has managed to evolve from a plain film manifestation into a very decent – in our country, along with the Fest - leading festival. With its tenth edition it has fully established the programme concept oriented towards European and regional film, which corresponds with its joining the European Association of Film Festivals. That fact is undoubtedly pleasing but also binding.
This year the Festival officially becomes the Festival of European Film. That way its programme, structural, as well as geographical marks are all formally confirmed.
Besides, the Festival is going to be promoted in Szeged (a nearby town in the European Union) with its programmes Young European Authors and New Serbian Film. This is supposed to test the idea of organizing a joint SCG-Hungarian Festival, which would, in that case, become literally European.
During its history, Palic Film Festival has established a recognizable name on the regional cinematographic map, and it is becoming increasingly more European.
However, precious heritage of the Palic Film Festival, at least informally, is its relaxed atmosphere, friendliness, and above all its genuine, positive energy which spreads wherever the Festival takes place.
The 12 th International Palic Film Festival will be opened today, on the 17 th of July. After the opening ceremony (21.00) on the Summer Stage, The Sea Inside, the film made in Spanish-French-Italian co-production will be shown (out of competition, 21.45), and afterwards we will have an opportunity to see the Greek film Delivery (23.30).
The Festival will be opened by Jancsó Miklós, the famous Hungarian director.
