The festival will be hosted by director Matthew Jones, producer Michael McMahon, and James Lavelle, the protagonist of James Lewelle’s film, who will answer audience questions after the screening on July 25 at Abazi’s Palić cinema.

In this atypical documentary, which is an extremely sincere way shows the ups and downs of a popular artist, viewers will be able to pass through almost three decades that have shaped contemporary British culture, and in the film about Lavel’s influence on the music scene speak many world-famous performers (DJ Shadow, Ian Brown, Massive Attack, Grandmaster Flash, Josh Homme, and others) who co-operated with him during his career.

This is an extraordinary story of one of the most gifted but also the most influential figures of modern British culture, created by an impressive record of 700 hours of recordings from an exclusive private archive of artists. The film „Man from Mo’Vax“ is a rare opportunity and a unique chance to see Lavel’s being from an unknown teenager to a global music star.

– „This movie is much more personal than a typical music documentary. I will always be grateful to James and DJ Shadow on this unsettled and unprecedented look at their lives, and in the fact that both were so generous to entrust my intimate, recorded memories, „says Matthew Jones, film director, and adds : „I’d like people to get out of the cinema inspired, and to transfer at least a fraction of James’s wild and crazy dreamer’s personality.“

The next day (July 26th), James Lavell will perform at Palic within the Summer3p electronic music festival, which is a result of cooperation between two Palić festivals.

The Festival of European Film Palić will present more than 130 films in 15 program units during its 26th edition (July 20-26), host contemporary European artists of all generations, and organize a dynamic accompanying program with numerous workshops, exhibitions, and music events.
