Palić Film Festival was founded in 1992 and from small, non-pretentious Palić Film Nights, over stubborn attempts of making a serious regional festival in hard times of isolation and first attempts of connecting cinemas of states in war, it grew into the important spot on the European film festival map. Since 2003 it has become European Film Festival Palić dedicated to the promotion of European authors and thereby gathering place of most important artists that shape the European cultural scene. Some of the Festival’s guests were Nikita Mikhalkov, Ken Loach, Roy Anderson, Ken Russell, Brian Cox, Theo Angelopoulos, Cristi Puiu, Jirí Menzel together with the greatest names of Yugoslav cinema. EFF Palić is also the winner of 2017-18 EFFE Award (by European Festival Association) for the Best European Art Festival.
