Exhibition: The films we loved

filmovi koje smo voleli srb

Historical Archive Požarevac presents exhibition “Films We Loved”, a unique collection of film posters created by systematical collecting of Blagoje Čkonjević. His son Marko enabled digital presentation of the collection.

This extraordinary collection follows development of Yugoslav (Serbian) cinema from 1947 to 1980. Films are presented in chronological order, without care for genre or author. The intention was to present unique works of Serbian and Yugoslav production from the time when national identification was not possible, except by the affiliation to production companies. We picked films as main representatives of their directors, without favoring any author in particular.

Among them we can find Puriša Đorđević, Veljko Bulajić, Žorž Skrigin, Živko Pavlović, Kokan Rakonjac, Žika Mitrović, Mića Popović, Vladimir Pogačić, Soja Jovanović, Aleksandar Petrović, Vojislav Nanović… and the only thing that could never be separated into national cinemas are the names of the main protagonists.
