A pious girl, Paraskeva, leaves her life among the people in the city of Constantinople and goes to the Jordanian desert where she spends the next 40 years of her life fighting temptations, sins and inner demons. We follow her journey from an ordinary girl to the most beloved and respected Saint of the Orthodoxy. The side story tells us about two women (Arab women Zejneba from the Bedouin tribe and Paraskeva) who come from different cultural, social and religious backgrounds, but share the same emotions and values. The two of them create an unusual friendship. During her stay in the desert, Zejneba is Paraskeva's only friend, but also a mirror to the outside world that Paraskeva left behind. This story tells us how people can overcome their weaknesses. The film deals with someuniversal moral issues of humanity, which makes it relevant even today, no matter where in the world.
