Antoine and Olga, a French couple, have been living in a small village in Galicia for a long time. They are engaged in ecologically responsible agriculture and everything seems idyllic until they come into conflict with their neighbours - a conflict that will escalate into great violence. THEBEASTS is set in Galicia, a region of intense beauty, which is rimmedwith deep-rooted traditions that have been smouldering for centuries, and modern capitalist forces (sometimes disguised as ecology). The dramatic conflict can be sighted from the presentation of the characters themselves, half-hidden in the semi-darkness of a village bar, where the locals play dominoes while a stranger listens to their stories. Although they share the territory, they are separated by habits, principles, language, life plans and above all, a fundamental misunderstanding. This lack of understanding will increase and, like a pressure cooker, bring uncertainty into the lives of a French couple living in the mountains of north-western Spain. Neighbourly disagreements between the protagonists and the antagonists gradually escalate until what was felt from the first minute breaks out (and that wait is particularly excruciating).
