MIŠA RADIVOJEVIĆ
Authors’ summit on the lake
I feel most comfortable when no one expects anything from me
He makes his “personal films” and that’s what makes him happy. He is looking forward to the authors’ summit on the lake, as he calls Palić festival, which will be closed with his new film How I Was Stolen by the Germans. He is not in the mood for important subjects and big words. Living is hard, everywhere in the world, not only here, he notices. If you have some health and some money it’s rude to be dissatisfied. Money means only to those who don’t have it, and doesn’t solve anything. Still he cannot refrain from the conclusion that deeply affects him, and that is that we are all emotionally destroyed and have lost the meaning…“I was at Palić twice, the old one, the small one. We received an award for the film Ni na nebu ni na zemlji in 1994. After that I made a big break before I shot a trilogy Awakening from the Dead, The Reject , and now the German, says the director of films such as Breakdown, The Promising Boy, Living Like the Rest of Us, Una… "
ANDREI ZVYAGINTSEV – THE DIRECTOR OF ELENA
Secrets are to be kept
It was unbelievable, impossible, strange in Venice. It was difficult to endure…
''I was at the European Film Festival in Palić for only one day and I do not have definite impressions. If I had been able to come for the whole week, as I wanted to, it would have been a different story. I was welcomed in a wonderful way, I enjoyed myself in one wine cellar, with relish I drank champagne and the sweetest and most subtle alcoholic drink I have ever tasted – brandy (''rakija'')'', says the winner of the Venetian Golden Lion for the film The Return, whose latest film Elena was shown in the official selection of the Festival.
DAMO SUZUKI – A WALKING LEGEND
What a man!
Almost six years have passed since Damo Suzuki was here the last time, and then it was in the Yu Fest cafe which is now at the Grand Terrace in Palić.
It was not only Damo that evoked the memory of this famous cafe. Jarboli also had a gig in that long-past 1999 in broad daylight. They both seem to be those boomerangs of nostalgia that suddenly come back to you and remind you that not everything is lost yet. That there are still fires burning in hearts.
YASEMIN ŞAMDERELI – WELCOME TO GERMANY
Enough with the turco-german dramas
National identity in my case is not something fixed, but a thing that is changing. Sometimes I feel more like a Turkish woman, and sometimes more like a German one. When I am in Turkey - I feel more like a German woman. And vice versa.
Yasemin Samdereli was born in Dortmund in 1973. From 1993 to 2000 she studied at the School of Film and Television in Munich. From 1994 to 1998 she was associate of Bavaria Film and worked as an assistant director in many international productions. She recorded a TV comedy Alles getürkt! In 2002, she was a collaborator on the script of the series Türkisch für Anfänger, and appeared in front of cameras for the first time in 2004 in the film Delicious. Almanya - Willkommen in Deutschland is her film debut.
SRĐAN KARANOVIĆ – WINNER OF THE “ALEKSANDAR LIFKA“ AWARD
From its beginnings Palić festival had an authentic atmosphere, good movies and good socializing. I was and still am his big fan
