Festival Parties

Within the Young European Spirit Selection of The 18th European Film Festival Palić, we have prepared exceptionally attractive music programme composed of national and regional alternative stars (Jarboli, Ludolf Neum and Bilk) and also worldwide well known avant-garde musicians, Mick Harvey, Damo Suzuki, Burnt Friedman and Jaki Liebezeit. Simultaneously, you will become a part of musical documentary that will shoot, collaborating with participants of Crossovers workshop, directors Uli M.Schueppel and David Kleijwegt.
       
The entrance to the concerts is free, and transport from Belgrade and Novi Sad to Palić, which is also free, will be organized by the Festival. You only need to get a voucher, that will be distributed, until the beginning of the Festival, over media (B92, Blic and Radio 021) and our Facebook page. (A voucher = return bus ticket to Palić + ticket for the Official Selection programme. The entrance for any other programme is free)   

Sunday, 17th of July – Belgrade band Jarboli


This cult alt-rock band was founded in early ‘90s. Their first album, Čizmanoga, was released in 1996. Recently, they have released their seventh album titled Zabava.   

Monday, 18th of July - Damo Suzuki & Ludolf Neum


Damo Suzuki is well known as a former singer of German krautrock band Can, from 1970 to 1973. In 1983, Suzuki makes his comeback with Damo Suzuki's Network project, collaborating with various musicians and bands, such as Can, Cul De Sac, Do Make Say Think, Broken Social Scene and many others.
At the Festival, Damo Suzuki will be performing with Subotica’s cult music band, Ludolf Neum.   

  
Tuesday, 19th of July – Mick Harvey


This Australian multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer, is best known for his long collaboration with Nick Cave. Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds was founded in 1983 and Harvey was its member until 2009. He worked with many famous musicians, such as PJ Harvey, Serge Gainsbourg, Robert Forster and others. He has released six solo albums, with the last, titled Sketches from the Book of the Dead. Harvey has also written music for many films. He plays guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drums, percussions and he sings, too.       


Wednesday, 20th of July - Burnt Friedman & Jaki Liebezeit


Burnt Friedman, musician and producer who deals with electronic music, dub and jazz, and Jaki Liebezeit, former drummer of Can, are the music team that make Secret Rhythms project. They were connected by their common inclination towards music, non-typical for the western culture, and also by musical forms experiments.  

   
Thursday, 21st of July – Bilk


Modern Croatian band Bilk was founded in 1999, in Zagreb. They released their debut album, This Bilk Is Radio Active (Moonlee Records), in 2006. They combine almost all contemporary musical genres: drum'n'bass, dub, reggae, electro, rock...
