Selector of EFF Palić in the Cannes Festival jury

One of the selectors of the European Film Festival Palić, Petar Mitrić, was elected a member of the Director's Fortnight program jury at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, which is taking place from 15 to 26 of May.
The Director's Fortnight programme (Quinzaine des Realisateurs) of the Cannes Film Festival was created in the down of the 1968 protests as a space for new authors and trends in world cinema.
Since its founding directors like Martin Scorsese, Werner Herzog, Jim Jarmusch, Ken Loach, RW Fassbinder, Coppola, George Lucas and others had their premieres within the programme. The concept represents the most relevant programme for author's film in the world.
Director's Fortnight programme throughout its history also presented our most significant national filmmakers Dušan Makavejev, Živojin Pavlović, Srđan Karanović, Goran Paskaljević and others.
This year's selection consists of 21 feature-length and 9 short films . "La Danza de la Realidad", the first film Chilean - French director Alejandro Jodorowsky (known for the films "El Topo", "Holy Mountain," "Santa Sangre") has shot after two-decade long pause, is in the selection, too.
Four-member jury of Europa Cinemas Label - Petar Mitrić (Serbia), Alice Black (UK), Kojo Yamashita (Japan), and Rafael Maestro (France) will present the award for the best feature film of Europe within the programme. The winner will get the opportunity of distribution in 64 countries.

This years jubilee, 20 EFF Palić is taking place from 13 to 19 July 2013 at various locations by the lake of Palić and in Subotica.

Jubilee will be celebrated with many programmes such as selection Palić Winners, monograph on 20 years of the Festival, exibitions, debates… and of course the most numerous guests from all around the Europe so far.

The best European films in the Official Selection you will be able to watch at fantastic Summer Stage, one of the most beautiful open cinema theatres in Serbia, placed in the heart of the rustic park by the lake of Palić.

The Festival programme is composed of 11 selections: Official Selection, Parallels and Encounters, Young Spirit of Europe, Homage Programme for Aleksandar Lifka Award Winners, Homage Programme Dedicated to Underground Spirit Award Winners, New Turkish Film, New Hungarian Film, Europe and Christianity, Eco Documentaries, Palić Winners and Children’s Program
