Within Parallels and Encounters selection of the 19 European Film Festival Palić, held from 14 to 20 July 2012 at various locations by the lake of Palić and in Subotica, seven debut films, shot by young European directors who represent the future of The Old Continent's cinema, are going to be screened.
Selector of the Parallels and Encounters program Petar Mitrić pointed out some of the criteria of the selection of films as well as some characteristics that are common for them:“Parallels and Encounters selection consists of 10 films that geographically, historically and sociologically originate from Eastern Europe. This year's program presents as many as seven new authors who are engaged in contest with their first feature film. The image of contemporary Eastern European cinema through the prism of new authors, which is the leitmotif of this year's selection, reveals the courage in topics choice and sharpness in expression.”
