Paris, 1967. Jean-Luc Godard, the most famous film director of his generation, is shooting his film Le Chinoise with the woman he loves – Ana Wiazemsky – an actress twenty years younger than himself. Being happy and in love, they decide to get married. However, the reactions to the film set him off to reconsideration of their union. The event of May 1968 will intensify his doubt, and the crisis set upon him will change him to a great extent – from a star director he becomes a Maoist artist, misunderstood as greatly as it is impossible to understand him.
