"From Local to Global – The Contribution of Civil Society in the Fight Against Climate Change"

Climate change is accelerating at an unprecedented pace, with extreme weather events causing significant human, material and financial losses. It is therefore crucial to raise awareness of both the causes and consequences of climate change, to educate the public, and promote the transition toward a climate-neutral economy and a climate-resilient society – ultimately improving the well-being of people, the economy and the environment.

The civil sector plays a key role in combating climate change, serving as a bridge between institutions and citizens. Through various projects, educational initiatives, and local actions, NGOs raise public awareness about the impacts of climate change and promote sustainable practices. Their strength lies in their direct connection with local communities, allowing them to motivate citizens to make tangible changes in their daily lives – such as reducing waste, conserving energy, and consuming responsibly. By working together with citizens, NGOs help build more resilient communities and contribute to a more sustainable future.

This is also the focus of the Ecological Panel Discussion, part of the ECO DOX program and the debate section of the 32nd European Film Festival Palić 2025, titled " From Local to Global – The Contribution of Civil Society in the Fight Against Climate Change". The event is organized within the project: " Be Aware of the Problem – Be Part of the Solution," supported by the European Union through the Interreg VI-A IPA Hungary-Serbia Program.
