This Yugoslav film, made in the Macedonian language, is set in Greece during the early stages of the Civil War. It follows ethnic Macedonians serving in the army who are branded a "communist fifth column" by the monarchist right-wing government and sent to a concentration camp on an Aegean island, where they are subjected to various forms of abuse. The film won several awards in Yugoslavia and was selected as the country's official entry for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film.
