A solitary figure traverses a sun-scorched desert, carving fleeting marks into the sand. Created by filmmaker Helena Wittmann in response to a composition by Arnaud Rebotini, The Swell unfolds as a dialogue between sound and image, movement and landscape. Musical phrases seem to shape the contours of the desert itself, while shifting scales transform the human figure into a fleeting presence within an immense world. At once hypnotic and contemplative, the film explores the relationship between listening and seeing, inviting us to experience the landscape as both a visual and sonic phenomenon. Back to...
