29 Palić Film Festival: Gorki List Audience Award for the film "Close" by Lukas Dhont

Gorki List Audience Award at this year's 29 th European Film Festival Palić was assigned to the film "Close", directed by Lukas Dhont. The film was screened as part of the Official Selection.

In the film "Close", the intense friendship between two thirteen-year-olds, Leo and Rami, is suddenly interrupted. Trying to figure out what happened, Leo enlisted the help of Remy's mom, Sophie. This film is a story about friendship, responsibility and growing up.

Through this year's 29 th edition of the European Film Festival Palić, the multi-year cooperation between Gorki List and the European Film Festival continues. As a loyal friend of the European Film Festival Palić for 24 years, Gorki List complements the atmosphere and the Festival ambience, but also encourages the viewers to think and react and invites them to observe the world around them with open senses!

With the Gorki List Audience Award for the best film, the audience takes an active role and watches works of film art presented at the Festival from their own point of view. This way, in addition to the opinion of the expert jury, is respected the opinion of the most numerous "jury", i.e. those whose loyalty and dedication to the film and the Festival has lasted all these years.

Acknowledging the fact that the choice of the best film according to the opinion of the audience is often based on different criteria than the expert jury criteria, the European Film Festival and Gorki List with this award invited festival visitors to vote for the best film from the rich film oeuvre of European cinema after the screenings at this year's 29 th Film Festival. Gorki List Audience Award, this year, for the seventh time in a row, has unerringly read the pulse of the audience, so the laureate received specially designed statue.

The Gorki List Audience Award has been awarded six times now. Previous laureates of the Award were: in 2026 Hungarian film The Killer of a Pure Heart by Attila Til, in 2017 On Soul and Body by Ildika Enyedi, in 2018 a Belgian-Dutch co-production Girls, in 2019 French film Les Miserables by Ladj Li, The Name of the People by Darko Bajić and last year Impure Blood - Sin of the Ancestors by Milutin Petrović.

In addition to the rich film programme, the audience of the Festival enjoyed a number of dynamic accompanying contents, and this year the traditional cooperation with Gorki List, which is an indispensable part of the artistic scenography of the Festival, was extended to the musical part of the Festival programme with the band "Brkovi", which gathered a large audience at the concert, especially young people. It is the confirmation that good friendships develop and last for a long time. Let it last!
