PALIĆ TOWER FOR THE BEST DIRECTION goes to Agnieszka Holland

DECISION OF THE INTERNATIONAL JURY FOR THE OFFICIAL SELECTION

The international jury of the 27th European Film Festival Palić 2020, held in Palić and Subotica from 12 to 18 September 2020, composed of: film programmer Michelle Carey (Germany), president, director and screenwriter Igor Ivanov (North Macedonia) and director and screenwriter Goran Radovanović (Serbia), members, has upon viewing the Official Selection of 12 films made the following decisions at the online session:

PALIĆ TOWER FOR THE BEST DIRECTION goes to Agnieszka Holland, for directing CHARLATAN, a film realized in a Czech-Irish-Polish-Slovak co-production.

"In her fifth decade of filmmaking, Agnieszka Holland continues to dissect twentieth century European history with tireless commitment. Holland seamlessly covers a lot of ground - murder mystery, historical drama, the cult of personality in the guise of a natural healer – and cuts between several timespans and political eras, from capitalism to fascism to totalitarianism in Czechoslovakia. And this is the mark of a great filmmaker."
