Brkovi, a punk-folk attraction from Croatia, will perform on Thursday, June 21 from 22:30 at the Palić European Film Festival in Abazija Summer Cinema, as part of the music program of the Festival. The concert is realized with the support of a long-time friend of the festival, Gorki List.
Brkovi has been around since 2004, and since then they have released 7 studio albums and played countless concerts throughout the Balkans and Europe. The band created their own style they named "PunkFolkWellness". The vocal of the band Shamso69 (Vedran Pehar) is the author of most of the lyrics and music.
Brkovi has so far released albums "PunkFolkWellness" (2009), "Society of bearded young men" (2010), "Balkan Esperanto" (2012), "Pizda Materina" (2014), "Dado Topić’s Torso" (2016), "Hormone Happiness" (2018), "Mustaches are to be Loved" (2020). In 2013 "Guests with Mustaches" was released, album of songs by Brkovi, performed by various performers from the Balkans.
In the spring of 2022, Brkovi started the "Novo (Ne)normalno" tour with a performance in Munich, and they released their last single and music video "Even Punks Don't Listen to Punk Anymore" in early April 2022. The current line-up consists of Shamso69, Šarac, Tomac, Vlajko, and Igor Paspalj – the Dog.
In addition to Brkovi, bands Gift and Norveška Šuma from Novi Sad, The Quarantinos from Zrenjanin, as well as Perpetuum Mobile and Mia from Subotica will perform in the musical part of the Festival program. Free entrance gigs start every Festival day at 10:30 p.m.
This year's edition of the Festival, organized by the Open University Subotica, takes place in several locations, including the unique Summer Stage in Palić, as well as the Eurocinema, Abazija and Lifka cinemas. During the pre-festival program and the central part of the manifestation, more than 130 films from all over Europe will be presented to the audience, in 15 different sections and programme units. Most films will have their Serbian and regional premiere here in Palić. In addition to the rich film programme, the audience will be able to enjoy numerous dynamic accompanying contents - concerts, exhibitions, promotions, workshops and master classes.

Gorky List has been a sponsor-friend of European Film Festival Palić for more than 20 years, as an indispensable part of our artistic scenography, but also a partner that encourages the engagement of the audience to explore the experiences of the presented film productions through the Gorki List Audience Award. This year, the traditional cooperation will be extended to the musical part of the Festival program.
