The Open University of Subotica, as the executive producer of the European Film Festival Palić, Center for Event Organization and Media Activities Szeged, as the executive producer of the Zsigmond Vilmos Film Festival, Hírös Agora Cultural and Youth Center Nonprofit Ltd. from Kecskemét, as co-organizer of the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival, and New Cultural Settlement, as the executive producer of the 21114 Film Festival, are partners in the FAFA - Film Art for All project, implemented within the framework of the Interreg VI-A IPA Hungary - Serbia Program.
The FAFA project focuses on developing film audiences and professionals in the cross-border region through four key activities: 1. Organizing innovative education on the filmmaking process and film reporting, 2. Researching and mapping participants in the field of film art within the cross-border region, 3. Facilitating the exchange of experiences and knowledge transfer between film festivals and other stakeholders in the film sector, and 4. Promoting the cinematography of the partner countries.
As part of the 32nd European Film Festival Palić, a workshop will be held for students from film schools in Subotica, Szeged, Novi Sad and Kecskemét. It will gather twelve young participants who previously attended the partner film schools and joint workshops during the Zsigmond Vilmos Film Festival and the Kecskemét Animation Film Festival in May and June 2025. The four-day workshop aims to deepen students' knowledge in the following areas: developing original screenplays, advanced camera work and filming techniques, advanced film editing, film analysis and film criticism, and creating short promotional video materials in the form of festival reports, which will be featured on the project’s podcast channel.
The festival will also host screenings of eight selected films from contemporary Serbian and Hungarian cinema, showcasing the work of young filmmakers tackling socially engaged topics. Each screening will be followed by discussions with guests from the films, held across four festival evenings.
Finally, the third activity of the FAFA project during the festival involves knowledge exchange between project partners and film festival organizers, further strengthening cross-border cooperation.
